The amazingly-named St Augustine of Hippo once famously say “the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” The same can be said for coaching and playing soccer. Regions of the world have different styles of play – how they tackle, how fast they move, how physical they are etc – and different ways of teaching. If you have the chance to experience the game outside of your area, we highly recommend trying it. In this section we talk about how to take teams to play in tournaments far away and how to find coach education experiences from teaching abroad to federation trips.

Players – How to choose which tournament to take your team to, when to go, who goes with you, where to stay, rules, preparation, playing games, and what to get out of going. Coaches – taking a job coaching in another region or country, going on federation education trips, and taking your own trips to watch games or practice sessions in foreign countries.
